For the Love of the Boundary Waters
The Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota hold a sacred place in my heart. I spent summers there as a kid—learning about the land, the wildlife, and how everything in nature is connected. It’s where I first felt a deep sense of confidence, calm, and belonging.
Even now, living in Oregon, I return whenever I can. The Boundary Waters are one of the last truly wild places in the country. That kind of pristine wilderness—clean water, deep silence, thriving wildlife—is increasingly rare.
But this place is in danger.
A toxic copper mine has been proposed just upstream. Sulfide-ore mining is one of the most polluting industries in the U.S. If allowed, it could permanently contaminate the clean water and destroy the ecosystem that so many animals call home.
That’s why I’m raising money for Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness—to protect this wild sanctuary for the beavers, loons, moose, wolves, and countless other creatures that live there. Your donation will help fund legal action, advocacy, and grassroots efforts to stop this mine and push for permanent protections.
If you’ve ever paddled one of these lakes, heard a loon call, or simply believe in protecting wild places—for nature, for the next generation—please consider donating.
Let’s keep the Boundary Waters wild—for all who call it home.
