At The Wave Youth Center, we have created a unique space where youth feel safe, seen, and supported. It is a place where they can openly discuss what is happening in their lives. Here, licensed mental health professionals work closely with students in a relational, rather than clinical, environment. Students themselves also become advocates and leaders in promoting mental health awareness.

This support has made a profound impact on many lives.

However, we are at risk of losing one of our mental health professionals due to changes in funding. While the demand for mental health needs is growing, operational funding to support these needs is declining.

We are reaching out to you—our neighbors, community leaders, and business owners—because we believe this is not just someone else’s problem. This is a challenge that affects our community, and these are our kids. The students who walk through our doors  represent the future of our communities. They embody the hope we have for bridging divides, mending relationships, and building stronger, more connected neighborhoods.

In a time when division is pulling some apart and difficult topics are often avoided, we see a different story—young people stepping into Mental Health advocacy, listening to one another, and learning how to build healthy relationships and resilient lives. This growth is only possible when they have consistent access to the care and connection they receive at The Wave.

This effort is not about grand gestures but rather about the power of many small contributions. A little from here, a little from there—when combined, it adds up to significant changes we can achieve together.
